Jana Degrott - Initiator

Social innovator Jana Degrott launched Be Human asbl in 2015, driven by a vision to support humanitarian efforts during the migration crisis. What began as a fundraising platform for small-scale humanitarian organizations has transformed, under her guidance, into a comprehensive support ecosystem. Today, Be Human serves as a catalyst for youth development, hosting various programs and initiatives that empower young people of all backgrounds to thrive and succeed.

Lara Dieudonné - President

With a global mindset shaped by her upbringing in Luxembourg and studies in the UK and the Netherlands, Lara brings a unique perspective to the board. Her expertise in foreign affairs, communications, and public diplomacy is invaluable. Her passion for community impact, rooted in her non-profit background, drives her commitment to making a significant impact.

Cairo Hadley - Secretary

With a background in the U.S. military and law enforcement, Cairo brings a wealth of experience to the board. Now working in cybersecurity, they continue to advocate for and support marginalized communities in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. As a neurodivergent, transmasculine individual, Cairo is passionate about Be Human's mission and committed to creating a more inclusive world.

Edwige Mutesi - Treasurer

With a Master’s degree in International Management from ICHEC Brussels Management School and over 15 years of professional experience in Project Management, IT, Finance, and HR, Edwige has worked extensively in Luxembourg within international environments. Multilingual and passionate about personal development, she is driven to eradicate injustice by empowering women and supporting those facing discrimination. Her love for discovering new cultures through her many travels around the world enriches her perspective and commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable world.  

Nadia Kendall - Executive Director

Nadia Kendall brings together her background in law and her passion for social justice. As the Program Coordinator for PowHer, she empowers young women and underrepresented groups, and she co-founded the Hidden Disability Hub, which supports young people with hidden disabilities. Passionate about inclusion and equity, Nadia holds degrees in Political Science and International Law and has worked in corporate law and advocacy. Recently honored with the 2024 Luxembourg Peace Prize for Outstanding Youth Peace Worker, Nadia is dedicated to building a more just and accessible world.

Sumaia Saiboub - Head of Comms of PowHer

Sumaia, also known as Sumi, is a versatile creative with a career spanning writing, social media management, and digital strategy. From a young age, she has had a passion for storytelling. As she grew older, she realized that many stories remain untold and needed to be shared with the world.She began her career writing for the online sections of magazines and assisting with their digital communications and social media, then transitioned to creative agencies, where she met Jana Degrott. Inspired by Jana's commitment to empowering the next generation of female leaders, Sumaia joined her at PowHer.
